It can be used in classic full screen variant and it is&nbsp; also an important component of many other tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"181\" height=\"300\" src=\"http:\/\/videoq.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/ColorBarsRGBSequence-181x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/videoq.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/ColorBarsRGBSequence-181x300.jpg 181w, https:\/\/videoq.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/ColorBarsRGBSequence.jpg 328w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 181px) 100vw, 181px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The simplest and oldest color bars variant is a sequence of eight vertical bars of 100% (maximum intensity) colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This sequence can be produced in RGB format by a simple 3-bit counter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The standard color bar sequence is<br>\nWhite, Yellow, Cyan, Green, Magenta,Red, Blue, Black. Six colored bars show <strong>3 Primary Colors<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; Red, Green, Blue&nbsp; and <strong>3 Complementary Colors <\/strong>&#8211; Cyan, Magenta, Yellow; White and Black bars&nbsp; provide for&nbsp;<strong>Reference White<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Reference Black<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The typical specification of color bar levels (ITU-R Recommendation BT.471 &#8220;Nomenclature and Description of Color Bar Signals&#8221;) is a set of four numbers separated by slashes or dots and giving RGB levels as a percentage of Reference White in the following sequence:<br>\nWhite Bar \/ Black Bar \/ Max Colored Bars \/ Min Colored Bars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone size-full wp-image-339\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"789\" height=\"631\" src=\"http:\/\/videoq.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/ColorBarsNomenclature.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-339\" srcset=\"https:\/\/videoq.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/ColorBarsNomenclature.jpg 789w, https:\/\/videoq.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/ColorBarsNomenclature-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/videoq.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/ColorBarsNomenclature-768x614.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Color Bars Nomenclature Examples<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Some color bar patterns merit special names.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance, 100\/0\/75\/0 bars are often called &#8220;EBU Bars&#8221;, and 100\/0\/100\/25 bars are known as &#8220;BBC Bars&#8221; or &#8220;95 % Bars&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Widespread &#8220;SMPTE Bars&#8221; are, in fact, multi-component test pattern, where 75\/0\/75\/0 color bars occupy upper part of the image (2\/3 of picture height). There are several versions of this test. Now we should test not only RGB or YUV Signal Levels, but also the Light Levels of the media files content and rendered color bars images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Reference White data values and the corresponding Light Levels depend on the Dynamic Range mode.
